Our fourth annual visit to Lilian Faithfull Care (where Rob and Kate’s parents reside) was a little different this year. In place of letters, we designed and printed Christmas cards for the children from St James’ C of E Primary School to complete!
Kate generously offered her time to create two Christmas card templates that would be appropriate for all age groups of the children in the school. Once the designs were finalised, we covered the costs for the printing of the cards using a matte finish material that is suitable for colouring with crayons, pencils, felt tip pens, and other art materials. This allowed the children to choose the materials they preferred to decorate their cards.
On the 20th of December, we attended Faithfull House (where Pat resides) and had a fantastic time with the children and residents at Faithfull House, singing carols with the Mindsong Volunteers, passing the cards around, and having a tasty afternoon tea together. 288 cards were beautifully completed and delivered to all the Lilian Faithfull Homes – an amazing achievement!
Kate Berry commented:
“The help and support we have received from the teams at Faithfull House residential home and St Faith’s nursing have been superb. Dad and Mum who live in different homes due to their care needs, have settled in amazingly and are very fond of all the staff. Being part of the same charity, the care homes regularly arrange for mum and dad to meet each other and also put on birthday get-togethers for our family.”
A huge thank you to all the children at St James’ C of E Primary School and PTA volunteers for this jolly Christmas gift to Lilian Faithfull Care. We wish everyone a Merry Christmas.
