Improving stress levels with the help of four paws

As many of our customers know, team Officeworx have three very special members – Evie, Carly and Rodney. We love having the dogs with us during our office day and they are very popular with our customers. They are a big talking point when we have visitors to our office and can sometimes be heard having fun while we are on the phones.

Having a pet-friendly work environment has become a bit of a trend with many modern and innovative companies such as Google, who allow their employees to come to work with their pets. They believe it improves work-life balance, reduces stress and therefore increases productivity. As far as recruitment goes, allowing pets at work is a growing trend among millennial employees and so can attract younger talent.

A recent survey by Kennel Club revealed some very interesting statistics:

70% of people say that dogs alleviate stress in the workplace
67% of people say that dogs make the atmosphere more friendly
51% of people say that dogs improve morale and job satisfaction
51% of people say that dogs encourage employees to take breaks from the screen
45% of people say that dogs make the company/org more attractive for job seekers with dogs
33% of people say that dogs improve productivity
25% of people say that dogs make the company/organisation more attractive for job seekers without a dog

We are aware that a number of our customers are also fortunate to bring their furry companions into their working environment and we love hearing about their personalities and activities that they get up to – dogs really are the perfect conversation starter. If you would like to see more of what our trio get up to, make sure you follow our Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn pages.
